Dental Therapist
Our practice is dedicated to preventative measure to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums.
As the Dental Therapist at the practice I am available to ensure continued oral health for everyone. As well as fillings and treatment on children I have a particular interest in periodontal care.
What is a Dental Therapist?
A Dental Therapist is a dental care professional who can provide the same duties as a Dental Hygienist but has also received additional training to perform more advanced and complex procedures. The skills of a Dental Therapist may be used to free up the Dentists time so patients may be seen sooner. This may result in you visiting a therapist for some of your treatment.
What treatments can a Dental Therapist carry out?
Dental Therapists can carry out 70% of the treatments dentists can. These include:
All treatments vary for each individual patient. A treatment plan will be tailored to you by our highly trained dentists and therapist to make sure you receive the best possible care.

Air polishing available for a brighter smile
Our Airflow system, within a short appointment, can have you stain free!
It uses a mixture of air and airflow powder combined with a water jet to remove staining from teeth quickly and pain free.
Please call us on 01333 423775 or enquire now if you would like more information.
We stock all the oral health products needed to maintain a healthy mouth at home.
How often should I see the hygiene therapist?
If you have a good oral health, we generally recommend twice yearly hygiene visits. If you have dental implants or gum problems you may be required to have more frequent sessions.
Can I do anything to prevent oral hygiene problems occurring?
Brush twice daily for 2 minutes with a fluoride toothpaste (1450ppm)
Use interdental cleaning aids in between your teeth to get the 40% of tooth surfaces your toothbrush cant reach!
Eat a balanced diet - make sure you are eating nutritious foods; leafy greens and oily fish.
Watch what you drink - fizzy drinks don't only attack your teeth with sugar but acid too. Acid does irreversible damage to your teeth making them look worn and yellow. Water or milk are best!
