NHS treatments

All NHS treatment costs are set by the Government and are charged accordingly.

NHS dental treatment is free to:

• Children and young people under 18
• Those under 19 in full time education
• Expectant mothers or if you've had a baby in the last 12 months
• Anyone receiving income support or family credit
• Families with a certificate for full help with the cost of NHS services

If you are on a low income you may be able to get treatment for free or at a lower cost. Ask for a HC1 form to see if you are eligible.

Under the NHS, 6 monthly check-ups are free. The following treatments are available on the NHS:

• Scale and polish
• Silver posterior fillings
• Tooth coloured anterior fillings
• Acrylic and chrome full and partial dentures
• Extractions
• Root canal treatment
• Metallic posterior crowns
• Tooth coloured anterior crowns and veneers
• Fissure sealants
• Pre-formed metal crowns on baby teeth

A treatment plan with relevant costing will be provided.
